Selection is performed with base in descending order of Standard Rate of Return (SPR), according to the data provided by the DAC at the time of selection, with students with the best grades being approved.
If I am approved in a notice and do not confirm interest within the specified period, what happens to my application?
Any selected student who does not confirm their interest in the announcement within the deadline stipulated in the automatic email sent by the SIGA system after selection will be automatically disqualified and will lose the opportunity to participate in the exchange. Therefore, it is essential to follow the announcement schedule and check your email regularly so as not to miss any important information or communication.
If I give up participating in a call for applications that I signed up for, can I still participate in other calls?
If you withdraw from a call during the selection phase, you will be able to continue participating in the other calls for which you signed up. However, remember that there is a possibility of not being included, as the selection depends on the mandatory requirements and the number of places offered, considering that the competition (number of students enrolled) is usually high. So think carefully before deciding to withdraw from a notice for which you were selected. #ficaadica
Are there any penalties if I withdraw from the exchange after being selected?
If you withdraw from the exchange program during the selection process, before being appointed to the foreign university, you will not suffer any penalty for withdrawing.
However, if you give up After the selection process is closed and/or after being appointed to the destination university, you may be subject to penalties, such as not being able to participate in new calls for applications for a given period.
This is because, when you were selected and/or appointed, you used a predicted vacancy and, by giving up on the exchange, this vacancy can no longer be reassigned.
Oh, and the decision should be reconsidered more than once if you have been awarded an exchange scholarship, because, in case of withdrawal, it is very likely that the scholarship amount will need to be returned in full. #justsaying
Can I apply again for exchange programs if I have already been selected previously?
Students who have already participated in a DERI mobility call will not be able to register again as long as they are enrolled in the same course.
However, they may participate in future notices if they are enrolled in an undergraduate course other than the one in which they were previously considered.
I was selected in a DERI notice. What are the next steps?
Firstly, the selected student must check whether it is necessary to register directly on the university website by the stipulated date.
Important: the application process on the website or system of the host university is often mandatory. Therefore, if the student does not complete this step within the deadline established by the university, even if he/she has been nominated by DERI, he/she may lose the opportunity to undertake the exchange.
After receiving the Letter of Acceptance from the foreign university, the student must take the Exchange Leave during the period he/she is absent from Unicamp.
