Unicamp students

Students from Higher Education Institutions in other countries can come to Unicamp to carry out an internship in the laboratory or part of their research together with professors from the University. In this modality, the student can be from Unicamp partner institutions or not, the only difference is in the documents required for registration.

The student must contact the professor with whom they intend to carry out the internship or research to express interest and agree on details such as activities to be developed, dates of stay at Unicamp, among others.

Attention

The student's registration and monitoring procedure during their period of stay at Unicamp is the responsibility of the teacher or institute/faculty that will receive them, and does not depend on approval or intermediation from DERI. If an acceptance letter and/or invitation letter is required before the student arrives, for visa or other purposes, this must be requested from DAC, via the SIGA system.

Necessary Documents

If the internship/research is at the Undergraduate level, the Unit must forward to the DAC:

  • Letter addressed to DAC-DIA, requesting enrollment and informing the student's home institution
  • Exchange Subject Inclusion Form
  • Discipline II Registration Form
  • Form CA12 Teaching Load (if there is more than one teacher responsible for the subject)
  • Course program, describing the activities to be developed by the student
  • Signed term of commitment
  • Updated academic transcript from the home institution (if the institution is not a partner of Unicamp)
  • Updated Certificate of Enrollment from the institution of origin (if the institution is not a partner of Unicamp)
  • Letter of Aptitude for Enrollment issued by DAC Customer Service (if the student is a foreigner and their stay at Unicamp is longer than 90 days)

If the internship/research is at Postgraduate level, the Unit must forward to DAC:

Method

Upon arriving at Unicamp, the student must go to the teaching unit where they will carry out the internship or research to sign the necessary documents and receive initial guidance.

In the case of a Brazilian or foreign student staying at Unicamp for up to 90 days, the Unit will forward the documents listed above to DAC.

In the case of a foreigner whose stay at Unicamp exceeds 90 days, the student must appear, after reporting to the Education Unit, at the DAC Customer Service with a simple copy accompanied by the originals of the following documents:

  • passport identification page
  • passport page containing the visa
  • passport page with entry stamp into the country
  • National Migrant Registration Card (CRNM) or visa registration protocol or appointment to register with the Federal Police

The guideline is that the student must bring the letter and forms completed by the Unit when they attend the DAC, this way the process is more agile.

In the case of documents issued by institutions based abroad, the documents must be legalized and accompanied by a sworn translation.

Result

After completing their registration, the student will receive an email from DAC with their student registration number (RA) and the password to use Eduroam Wi-Fi.
