On April 29th, the Executive Directorate of International Relations (DERI) received a visit from Professor Kazuko Suematsu, Executive Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs and Director of the Global Learning Center at Tohoku University, Japan.
The meeting was attended by Heloisa Claro, advisor for International Relations, Renato de Moraes Oliveira, assistant for international cooperation, and Kathleen Alves Correa Oikawa, from the DERI mobility team. The main objective of the meeting was to deepen the dialogue on possibilities for academic collaboration between the institutions.
During the meeting, opportunities for developing joint research, student exchange programs, and other initiatives aimed at internationalization were discussed. In addition to identifying areas of mutual interest and evaluating ways to strengthen institutional cooperation, the focus was on increasing academic mobility and joint scientific production.
As part of the agenda, the professor also visited the Institute of Computing at Unicamp (IC), where she was received by Esther Colombini, associate director of the unit, and learned about outstanding initiatives of the Institute, such as Recod.ai, focused on the application of artificial intelligence.
