The State University of Campinas (Unicamp), through its Executive Directorate of International Relations (DERI), received a visit on April 15, 2026, from representatives of the CALDO Consortium, a network that brings together important universities in Canada. The agenda aimed to expand academic and scientific collaborations, focusing on mobility, joint research, and strategic internationalization initiatives.

The CALDO delegation was led by executive director Rodrigo Delgado and included representatives from partner universities such as Brock University, McMaster University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the University of Ottawa.

The program began at the Unicamp Rectorate with an institutional meeting that brought together university leaders, including the Vice-Rector, Fernando Antonio Santos Coelho, the Pro-Rector of Graduate Studies, Cláudia Morelli, the Director of International Relations, Rafael Dias, and the Coordinator of International Cooperation, Mayara Morais. The meeting was dedicated to presenting institutional priorities and identifying opportunities for cooperation with Canadian institutions.

Following this, the delegation was received at Educorp for a meeting with teaching and research units of Unicamp. Representatives from the Institute of Economics (IE), the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQ), the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (FEAGRI), the Institute of Geosciences (IG), and the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) gave presentations about their respective units.

The presentations highlighted the academic expertise, priority research areas, and international experiences of the units, creating an environment conducive to direct dialogue with Canadian partners. Topics discussed included opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, the development of joint research projects, and the expansion of institutional agreements.
