SPECIAL STUDENTS

A Special Student is one who, not being regularly registered in a Unicamp Undergraduate or Graduate course, receives authorization from the Course Coordinators to register in one or more isolated subjects in a certain academic period.

To apply for Undergraduate courses, the candidate must have completed a recognized course at any Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Brazil or abroad or be regularly enrolled in another Higher Education Institution

To apply for Postgraduate courses, the candidate must have completed a recognized course at any Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Brazil or abroad.

To apply for the Portuguese for Foreigners Classes is mandatory to participate in a level test. For more information, visit the CEL (Language Studies Center) website.

Procedures

The candidate for Special Student at Unicamp must:

Consult the Schedule to find out which subjects are offered and choose the ones you want to take.
Check register deadlines on the Academic Calendar.
In case of doubt, contact the Faculty or Institute Secretary for more information about the subject.
Wait for the result by email.

It is recommended that all candidates for Special Students, both in Undergraduate and Graduate disciplines, access the websites of the Faculty or Institute to verify the need for additional procedures, such as enrollment in their own systems adopted by the Coordinations and compliance with pre-requirements.

In the case of Postgraduate courses, the interested student must observe the deadlines established in the Academic Calendar to pre-enroll directly in the Faculty or Institute.

Each Faculty or Institute has autonomy to define the Special Student selection criteria, and it is up to each of them to pre-enroll or not.

Even if the Special Student candidate has made some type of pre-enrollment in the Unit of interest, including access to the systems of each Faculty or Institute, it is mandatory to enroll in the Special Student Enrollment System.

Attention

If the candidate does not complete the enrollment form in the Special Student Enrollment System, even if he/she is approved in the Faculty or Institute selection process, the enrollment in the requested subject(s) will not be carried out, and he/she must perform the enrollment in a subsequent semester.

Limit of academic credits In the case of Graduation level, the Special Student can enroll in multiple subjects, not exceeding the maximum limit of 14 (fourteen) credits per academic period. At the Postgraduate level, there are no credit limits to be taken, being up to the Course Coordination to authorize all subjects requested by the student or not. For candidates for Undergraduate-level disciplines, Special Student applications who have failed 02 (two) times, by grade or frequency, in the same subject, or 04 (four) times in different subjects. Necessary Documents It is not necessary to present documents in person, but when registering in the system, it will be necessary to upload a 3×4 photo and the required academic documents: Special Undergraduate Student Candidates: Certificate of Enrollment and Academic Transcript of the Educational Institution in which they are enrolled and/or Diploma (front and back) for candidates who have already completed their Undergraduate studies. It is essential that these documents are scanned and attached to the system to complete the registration. Result of registrations After filling out, uploading the documents and completing the application, the candidate must wait for the analysis of his application by the responsible Coordinator(s). If your registration is accepted, you will receive an automatic email to consult the Enrollment Report and a letter to register your password.
