Master’s (12 to 30 months) and Doctorate (24 to 60 months)

Faculty members all have at least a doctoral degree and work full time with an exclusive employment contract. The graduate program also has a significant number of part-time lecturers, who are accredited to coadvise specific research projects and give classes.

The graduate program in electrical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) aims to produce students with master’s and doctoral degrees who are equipped to undertake advanced research activities. In the master’s program, students learn about scientific methods, become familiar with modern techniques and technologies and acquire a solid theoretical grounding by studying a wide range of subjects. In the doctoral program, the focus is on preparing students to develop and carry out independent, innovative research and to establish themselves in the scientific community. Training for teaching is also part of the graduate program, and master’s students can take part in supplementary teaching activities by assisting lecturers with undergraduate subjects. Doctoral students can in turn take on teaching roles as long as they are supervised by a full-time professor from the graduate program. The graduate program in electrical engineering at the FEEC is attended by students from all over Brazil and various parts of Latin America. These professionals will typically go on to work in higher education institutions and research centers.

The FEEC has approximately 6,000 m2 of research and teaching laboratories, all very well equipped.
